Where are your cashmere products made?
Skida cashmere is made in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal.
Skida's founder, Corinne, first discovered Nepal's local cashmere industry while living in the Kathmandu Valley during a study-abroad program. She was fascinated by the ancient trade roots and tradition, as well as the commitment to craft that has carried down through generations. She studied the history and supply chain closely and later returned to visit factories in Kathmandu.
With an inherent passion for textile design, Corinne dove into this new venture: developing a new line of luxurious knitwear to compliment Skida's existing performance fabrics. She forged deep friendships with the dedicated and inspiring team on the other side of the globe who oversee, weave, and knit what has become Skida's small batch Cashmere collection.
Skida debuted our first cashmere styles in 2014. Ever since, we have been committed to maintaining a personal relationship with well-run, ethical, and small-scale factories. Corinne continues to visit Nepal - learning and exploring further on each trip.
